Since I graduated from CUA, I was first in political corporate consulting, then I started work as a teacher where I grew up at Lowell High School. In addition to working as a teacher, I'm completing my Masters in Secondary Education from Boston College's Donovan Urban Scholars where students are committed to transformative, high quality teaching in Title I Urban Schools.

My degree in Anthropology from CUA was the reason I was able to get into this selective program and be successful. With Anthropology being so interdisciplinary, it perfectly prepared me for my journey working full time through graduate school. From the incredible professors and advisors in the Anthro department, I am better able to engage with my students at work on a personal level, and the graduate school material at a much deeper, enriching level than a lot of my peers. The education I received at CUA's Anthro department really taught me how to look at issues and my community through a critical lens, and put academic work into a real-world perspective.

Throughout my program at CUA, I felt so supported and it really allowed me to think about what kind of environment I want to be in going forward throughout school and work. After having been in two vastly different careers of corporate consulting and teaching, then going through graduate school, I can say with confidence that my degree in Anthropology from CUA is what made me so successful with diverse skillsets. I would go back to the department in a heartbeat for a PhD or another Masters!
